Abstract

This study aims to explore the Quran-based approach to digital content filtering systems that balance freedom of expression with Islamic values. In the rapidly evolving digital era, the freedom to access information often conflicts with moral and social principles, especially within Muslim communities. This study employs a library research method with a qualitative approach, analyzing the Ja>mi’ al-Baya>n ‘an Ta’wi>l A<yi al-Qur’a>n by Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari and Tafsir al-Misbah by Quraish Shihab. An interpretative approach is applied to understand Islamic ethical principles such as truthfulness, critical thinking, and social responsibility, which can serve as the foundation for a content filtering system. The findings of this research are expected to provide practical guidelines for developing content filtering policies that align with Islamic teachings, while also contributing to the creation of a safer, more ethical, and responsible digital space.
