Abstract

The rise of religious-based radicalism and intolerance in Indonesia demands a systematic effort to instill moderate religious attitudes from an early age, one avenue being madrasah education. This study aims to describe the concept of religious moderation from an Islamic perspective, analyze the dimensions and objectives of the Project for Strengthening the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Student Profile (P5-PPRA), and examine the correlation between the dimensions of P5-PPRA and the strengthening of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in madrasahs. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research, with data collected through documentary study of regulations, books, and relevant academic journals, analyzed using content analysis and descriptive-analytical techniques. The findings show that the ten dimensions of P5-PPRA ta'addub, qudwah, muwatanah, tawassuth, tawazun, i'tidal, musawah, syura, tasamuh, and tathawwur wa ibtikar are closely and substantively aligned with the core principles of religious moderation, namely tawassuth, tawazun, i'tidal, and tasamuh. The implementation of P5-PPRA in PAI learning has great potential to strengthen students' religious moderation if supported by adequate teacher competence, contextual project themes, active and reflective learning approaches, and authentic assessment systems. This study recommends strengthening the capacity of PAI teachers, developing practical implementation guidelines, and conducting further empirical research to measure its effectiveness in the field.
