Abstract

This study examines the influence of self-confidence on the assertive behavior of Grade X students at SMAN 2 Bogor City. The objectives of the study were (1) to determine the level of self-confidence among Grade X students at SMAN 2 Bogor City, (2) to determine the level of assertive behavior among Grade X students at SMAN 2 Bogor City, and (3) to determine the influence of self-confidence on the assertive behavior of Grade X students at SMAN 2 Bogor City. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. A simple random sampling technique was used to select a sample of 76 students. Likert-scale questionnaires were used as instruments to measure self-confidence and assertive behavior. The results showed a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.194, indicating that self-confidence contributes 19.4% to assertive behavior. Simple linear regression analysis yielded a significance value (p) of <0.001 and a regression coefficient of 0.497, demonstrating that self-confidence has a significant influence on assertive behavior. These findings confirm that higher levels of self-confidence are associated with higher levels of assertive behavior among Grade X students at SMAN 2 Bogor City.
