Abstract

The learning methods of the Prophet Muhammad saw as reflected in prophetic traditions (hadith) and their relevance to Islamic education. This study employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data are derived from classical hadis collections and their commentaries related to the Prophet’s teaching practices. Data analysis was conducted through identification, classification, and interpretation of hadith texts focusing on their educational content. The findings reveal that the Prophet Muhammad saw applied various teaching methods, including lectures, question-and-answer sessions, role modeling, demonstrations, discussions, and habituation. These methods were implemented flexibly according to learners’ conditions and characteristics. The study highlights that the Prophet’s teaching approach was humanistic, interactive, and value-oriented. Its relevance to contemporary Islamic education lies in promoting student-centered learning and integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains to foster holistic learner development.
