An Analysis of Ontology, Epistemology, and Axiology in Islamic Educational Management

Abstract

The analysis of ontology, epistemology, and axiology in Islamic educational management as a philosophical foundation that guides the direction and practice of managing educational instutions. From an ontological prespective, islamic educational management is understood as an educational management pricess based on the value of monotheism, making Allah Swt. the primary goal, and placing humans as caliphs with a great mandate in managing education. From an epistemology perspective, the sources of knowledge in islamic educational management are integrative, encompassing revelation (the Qur’an and Hadith), reason, empirical experience, and intuition, with a bayani, burhani, and irfani methodological approach. The validity of knowledge is measured by its conformity to Islamic teachings, empirical reality, and its usefulness in practice. Meanwhile, from an axiological perspective, Islamic educational management contains fundamental values such as monotheism, justice, trustworthiness, noble character, and shura which serve as ethical and moral guidelines in the implementation of education. These values provide benefits in the spiritual, intellectual, social, and economic dimensions, with the main goal of forming a perfect human being with Islamic character. Thus, a philosophical understanding through these three aspects significantly contributes to the development of quality, contextual Islamic educational management that remains rooted in islamic identitiy.
