The Epistemology of “Islamic” Knowledge: Classical and Contemporary

Epistemology is a part of the study of philosophy that focuses on the essence of science and the techniques for obtaining it. The study of epistemology today is more influenced and developed by Western than Islamic thinkers. Islamic thought has undergone significant changes from the beginning of Islam to modern times. The growth of Islamic thought is also inseparable from the influence of thought, history, social culture, and epistemology. The interaction and meeting of Islamic ideology with these elements has formed a unique epistemological structure in Islamic thought. This paper examines the discussion of epistemological integration in Islamic thought and its development in classical and modern times.
