Apart from that, this article also displays the views of the mufassir in understanding this problem. The verses of the Qur'an were revealed to be practiced with all their fadhilah and goodness, including the obligation to cover their private parts for women, which is intended to provide security and comfort for them and the people around them. All the responsibilities that Allah gives to His servants are for the benefit of humans. Therefore, it is hoped that this article will provide a more comprehensive understanding of the obligations of the hijab for women, thereby encouraging a moderate attitude in understanding and practicing it, without blaming other opinions or feeling self-righteous. By expressing the mufassir's understanding of the hijab for women, women are expected to be able to choose the right option according to their needs in the Sharia corridor. In addition, this paper aims to increase public understanding of the hijab issue and reduce unnecessary debate.
2025-01-04T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 M. When Muslims began to develop, the study of religious sciences also developed, such as the study of the verses of the Qur'an to be interpreted, when interpreting the verses of the Qur'an, many mufassirs have attention to differences in qirā' at, such as in the book of Tafsir al-Jalâlain. Problems arise when encountering the phrase wa fī qirā'atin in the book of Tafsīr al-Jalālain because it does not explain who is referred to in the phrase so that it does not know the status of the validity of the qirā'at, whether it is mutawatir, ahad or even syadz. This paper uses library research, while the data collection technique used is document review technique, then analyzed using descriptive analytical method, with a deductive mindset, namely looking for lafadz wa fī qirā'atin in the book of Tafsīr al-Jalālain in 30th Juz then looking for the status of qira`ah. The benefits of this research include introducing the imams of qirā'at and their positions, especially those contained in the memorization of wa fī qirā'atin in the book of Tafsīr al-Jalālain in juz 30. As for the results of this research paper, the author found the phrase wa fī qirā'atin in the book of Tafsīr al-Jalālain in the 30th Juz. imams who contained in it are imams of qira`ah arba`ah asyrah. Meanwhile, when viewed from the status of the authenticityof the qirā'at, it has a mutawatir status because in each lafadz it contains the name of one or more of the imams of the qira`ah sab`ah.
2025-01-11T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Farih, Abdullah Khoirur Rofiq, Alvian Bhakti Pamungkashttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/2090The Role of Islamic Boarding Schools in Fostering the Independence of New Santri at the Nurul Iman Islamic Boarding School in Bandung2025-01-12T03:37:51+00:00Nur Ainiyahnurainiyah@uninus.ac.idDadang Hidayatdadangdahi01@gmail.comFauzaan Allaamsyah Harunfurryroad354@gmail.comLinda Nur Kiraninurkiranilinda@gmail.comSiti Pathonah Zahrohsitipathonahzahroh@gmail.com
Independence is a character that every student must have so that they are mentally strong in adapting to Islamic boarding schools and are also able to solve the various problems they face. This was followed by growth in terms of financial institutions, both from the banking and non-bank sides. It can be seen from the contracts that are increasingly innovating like the multi-contracts that are now popular. Until one of the tabarru’ contracts which has the meaning of helping in sharia insurance institutions now feels like a tijaroh contract which spices up profits (profits) on transactions. The aim of this research is to examine the tabarru’ contract carried out by sharia insurance institutions by criticizing it through the tabarru’ theory approach itself from the perspective of muamalah fiqh. With qualitative research methods, sourced by secondary data, researchers try to describe the content of data collection techniques using deductive documentation methods. Hasyim Asy'ari, emphasized the importance of Islamic boarding school-based education that combines religious knowledge with classical Islamic traditions. He believed that strengthening morals and understanding of the Shari'a should be the main foundation of education, while remaining open to the development of modern science. On the other hand, KH. Ahmad Dahlan, founder of Muhammadiyah, has a more progressive view of education reform. He encouraged the modernization of the Islamic education system by adopting public school curricula and a rational approach to understanding religion. He also emphasized the importance of more systematic and organized teaching and general science as part of holistic Islamic education comparable to Western educational standards in force at that time. Even though they acted in different ways, these two figures were committed to improving the quality of education in Indonesia, with the main aim of creating a generation of Muslims who are intelligent, have morals and are able to contribute positively to society. Secular education is an educational system established by the Dutch East Indies government. In this system, only general knowledge is taught. Meanwhile, traditional education is an educational system founded by ulama, where in this system only religious knowledge is taught. This shows that education in Indonesia has not achieved its true goals. The aims of education include enlightening the life of the nation and developing the whole person, namely a person who is virtuous, has good morals, has knowledge, skills, physical and spiritual health, a stable and independent personality, and a sense of social and national responsibility. Sholati means my prayer, ila means until, while mamati means my death. So "my prayers until my death" means that I, as a memorizer of the Qur'an, have the responsibility to uphold both obligatory and sunnah prayers, try to be istiqamah and muraja'ah of the Qur'an in sunnah prayers until I die. Tahfidul Qur'an Nurul Istiqlal Islamic Boarding School Wonosari Klaten is a non-formal educational institution whose address is Pandanan Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency, Central Java Province. This article is included in qualitative research with a type of approach, namely literature study. In the literature study, researchers carried out activities to collect literature related to the ila mamati prayer method in facilitating memorization of the Al-Qur'an. This research uses books and other literature as the main object. So the type of research used is qualitative research. The implementation of the shalati ila mamati method is carried out when we pray. Because in prayer we definitely read the verses in the Koran, both short and long verses. However, this method is prioritized during sunnah prayers. The principles of the Illa Mamati prayer method are as follows: the principle of motivation, the principle of having the Al-Qur'an memorized, the principle of istiqomah. Applying a learning method in a learning activity is not as easy as imagined, especially in memorizing the Al-Qur'an. Sometimes how it happens and the reality that we find when we go directly into the field does not match what is expected with the theory learned when using this learning method. In every implementation or implementation there are definitely inhibiting and supporting factors that influence the use of the method, as well as when implementing it.
2025-01-21T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Luthfi Badrus Tsani, Fauzi Muharomhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1231Muamalah Fiqh Analysis of Murabahah 2024-03-17T14:10:40+00:00Mohammad Ghozalimohammadghozali@unida.gontor.ac.idAkhmad Novandi Nurtajuddinakhmadnovandinurtajuddin63@student.hes.unida.gontor.ac.idAkmal Hibatullah Ramadhanakmalhibatullah13@student.hes.unida.gontor.ac.id
Murabahah as buying and selling where the owner of the goods mentions the purchase price of the goods, then takes advantage of the buyer by saying "I bought this item as a dinar and you give me a profit of one or two dinars. Or something like that, with the condition that both parties to the transaction must know the cost price, while Ibn Rushd in bidayatul mujtahid gives a definition of Buying and Selling Goods at the original price at the agreed price.
2025-01-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Miftahul Khoir, Ahmad Hidayatullah Zarkasyihttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1334Comparative Analysis of Student Learning Outcomes in Al-Qur'an Hadith Lessons Based on Learning Media 2024-05-16T06:42:58+00:00Miftah Hur Rahman Zhmiftah.hur.2301218@students.um.ac.idMuh. TikTok social media is a form of technological progress that is widely used by humans, thus providing a great opportunity to cause activities that have a negative impact and commotion. In this article, hadith will be the main discussion because it differs from previous research and hadith itself is an explanation or reflection of the Al-Qur'an. The hadith that will be used is the hadith narrated by Imam At-Tirmidhi because it is part of the Politikussitah, namely the Mu'tabar hadith books which are a reference for Muslims. This research uses a literature research design (library research). The data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative data analysis technique. The primary data source used in this research is the hadith narrated by Imam At-Tirmidhi number 2032 in the book Jami' At-Tirmidhi and secondary data sources in the form of articles, books and journals that are directly related to the research theme. The results of the discussion concluded that showing disgrace or spilling is an act that is prohibited by religion. However, scholars agree that this spill activity can be carried out under four conditions, namely to expose injustice, seek protection from injustice, ask for advice, and give a warning. In this condition, such as spill behavior, you still have to use manners or ethics, namely not openly exposing someone's disgrace and talking about other people to be introduced. If this spill is carried out outside of these four conditions and without applicable etiquette, the spill will lead to things that are prohibited in religion and lead to a negative realm which will make the act haram.
2025-01-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Zur'aini Latifah Zahra, Uswatun Hasanah, Hedhri Nadhiranhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1665Implementation of the Tadabur Alam Learning Approach in Increasing Santri Faith at TPQ Nurud Dzolam, Sukasari Village, Pulosari District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten2024-10-05T13:28:55+00:00Naylur Rosyidnayl.muze@gmail.comEha Suhayatiehasuhayati189@gmail.com
This research discusses the benefits of the natural tadabur learning approach in increasing the faith of students at the Nurud Dzolam Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ). The natural tadabur learning approach is an activity of contemplating the greatness of Allah through the signs in the universe. This activity is routinely carried out at TPQ Nurud Dzolam to strengthen students' belief in the creation of Allah. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving students, ustadz/ustadzah, and TPQ managers as subjects. The research results show that the natural tadabur learning approach has a positive impact in increasing students' faith through direct spiritual experience, awareness of the greatness of Allah, and the formation of tawadhu' character. Supporting factors for implementing this activity include full support from TPQ managers, student enthusiasm, and a supportive natural environment. However, obstacles such as erratic weather conditions and resource constraints affect the consistent implementation of activities. This research recommends improving facilities, developing learning modules for the natural learning approach, as well as integrating this activity with the academic curriculum to maximize its benefits.
2025-01-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Naylur Rosyid, Eha Suhayatihttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1284Strategy of the Principal of MTs.S PP. The aim of education provided by women is to present and fight for gender equality and eradicate the culture of marginalization of women, gender equality is in the form of education, voicing the opinions and duties of women in society. Even though Kartini used to have limited religious understanding, Kartini believed that religion had a big role in society and human civilization. Kartini did not explicitly state the importance of religion in education in her letters, but Kartini's deeper understanding of religion provides a view that the basis of a child's education is a good religion, which is first given by a mother to a child in the product of temperament and character. Women's educational thoughts and practices towards the native community are a stimulant for the growth of better understanding and knowledge, especially in Islamic education. Kartini's criticality regarding the importance of women's education gave awareness to the ulama to increase understanding of Islam to the public with a clear educational concept. Gontor is no exception, which in fact is an Islamic boarding school-based educational institution that upholds Arabic language learning. Broadly speaking, there are two problems with learning Arabic, namely: Linguistic and Non-Linguistic. Among the linguistic problems faced by KMI Gontor class 5-S students are: (a) the students are less proficient in capturing and digesting the material presented by the teacher, where the language of instruction for these materials is Arabic, (b) the students are less proficient in reading bald Arabic texts (Arabic texts without harokat), (c) students are less proficient in the kitabah (writing). Even the writing they write themselves sometimes they can't read, (d) the students' nahwu and Sharaf abilities are very poor. Meanwhile, non-linguistic problems faced by class 5-S students include: (a) students' lack of interest and motivation in studying Arabic so that their abilities do not develop and tend to be very poor compared to their peers, (b) some teachers are less proficient in delivering the material. Actively, tend to only transfer knowledge, not provide enthusiasm and constructive impressions to students during learning activities.
2025-01-29T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Agus Yasin, Muhammad Kautsar Ramadhanhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1022Modernization of Islamic Boarding School Education Institutions According to Azyumardi Azra2023-12-17T05:12:04+00:00Muhamad Nur Zamannurzaman238@gmail.comMuhammad Munadimuh.munadi@staff.uinsaid.ac.id
Islamic boarding schools have made a significant contribution to efforts to educate the nation's generation. However, in the contemporary era, Islamic boarding schools cannot avoid the influence of modernization, especially with advances in science and technology. Islamic boarding schools are faced with challenges that arise due to changing times and modern life. The ability of Islamic boarding schools to respond to this challenge is a benchmark for the extent to which they can follow the flow of modernization. Azyumardi Azra presents solutions to overcome these problems. For the first issue, he suggested updating management and leadership systems by transforming centralized leadership into collective management. The second problem can be addressed through the contextualization and improvisation of learning methods, even by building new paradigms that adopt emancipatory paradigms. The third problem can be addressed by a similar approach, namely linking the curriculum to the needs of the times. Finally, the fourth problem can be overcome by implementing the legal rule "Al-Mukhafazatu 'ala al-qadim al-ashalih wa al-akhzu bi al-jadid al-ashlah," which means preserving good Islamic values while taking new values that are in accordance with the context of the times, in order to achieve methodological accuracy in enlightening the nation's civilization.
2025-01-29T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Muhamad Nur Zaman, Muhammad Munadihttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1021 Islamic Education Ideas from KH Saifuddin Zuhri's Perspective2023-12-17T05:13:29+00:00Moni Kusuma Wardanimoni25wardani@gmail.comZaenal Muttaqinzaenal.muttaqin@staff.uinsaid.ac.id
KH Saifuddin Zuhri is a student, who diligently studies. And character is also a key to assessing the quality of an individual. If you want to be seen as good by someone, then your character or behavior must also be good, and vice versa, if someone's behavior or character is bad, then the judgment of others towards that person will also be bad. This character is not something trivial; character is a very sensitive matter and requires consistency in its development. It needs to be prepared to handle or face upcoming problems. Especially in this modern era, everything is advancing, especially in the field of information technology, where everything is easily accessible. In this year, there is a rampant news of moral degradation among teenagers in Indonesia. Yet, the key to the success of a nation lies in the next generation. If the successors experience moral degradation, the progress of Indonesia will automatically be hindered. Therefore, there needs to be a movement to improve the generation that has experienced moral degradation and prevention for the coming generation. One of the steps that can be taken is the development of character and the instillation of Islamic education to the young generation of Indonesia. For the instillation of education, it is closely related to schools as formal educational institutions. However, surprisingly, the instillation and development of Islam are considered more effective when instilled at home and in the living environment. In this essay, we will explore the discussion of Islamic education in the family from the perspective of Hasan Langgulung's thoughts. This research is a qualitative study. Members from these two tribes often misperceive each other in form, language, speech intonation, and have different habits that give rise to misperceptions. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, the data sources used are primary and secondary. Data collection techniques in data research used in this research are observation, interviews and in-depth documentation with data analysis techniques using case studies. The aim of this research is, among other things, to find out the causes of misperceptions among members of the Jabodetabeka Cirebon Student Community (KMJC), to find out how to overcome misperceptions between members in the Jabodetabeka Cirebon Student Community (KMJC), to find out what kind of social communication methods are carried out between members in the organization to reduce misperceptions that occur. The results of this research show that misperceptions that occur among members of the Jabodetabeka Cirebon Student Community (KMJC) occur due to differences in linguistic culture involving Sundanese and Betawi tribes in the Jabodetabeka Cirebon Student Community (KMJC), how to overcome misperceptions that occur among members of the Student Community Jabodetabeka Cirebon (KMJC), namely by means of which members are expected to understand the character and characteristics of other members, respect each other among individual members even though they have different cultures, each member must have a sense of empathy and sympathy for other members. Currently, education is experiencing many changes in various aspects of people's lives. This is caused by the globalization process, which affects the whole world, including Indonesia, and the rapid progress of technology and science. The latest educational paradigm requires teachers to make learning more student-centered, however the results of formative tests and daily tests show that students' ability to understand and explain the thaharah chapter is still lacking. Therefore, researchers try to use the make a match method as a solution to improve student learning outcomes. The research results showed that after implementing the make a match method, there was a significant increase in the level of student learning completion. North Sumatra, with significant ports such as Barus and Samudera Pasai, became a hub of trade activity and the spread of Islam. Historical evidence shows the emergence of Islamic kingdoms such as the Sultanates of Asahan, Serdang, Deli, Bilah, Langkat, and Kualuh, reflecting the local community's acceptance of Islam. The discovery of ancient tombs in various locations in North Sumatra, including Barus and other areas, indicates substantial influence from Persia, Arabia, and China. Additionally, coins from various dynasties, including the Umayyad, Abbasid, and Pandya, found at the Bongal site in Central Tapanuli, highlight extensive trade relations and North Sumatra's significant role in international trade routes. The Aceh Sultanate played a crucial role in the spread of Islam in North Sumatra, supported by historical records from Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta. The discovered coins, particularly those from the Umayyad Dynasty, feature inscriptions in Kufic script, reflecting the dissemination of Islamic messages through monetary artifacts. One of the key aspects in education is the learning process, which is often the main focus but has not yet fully touched on the essence of the expected goals. Undirected learning tends to produce low quality. Therefore, learning principles are needed to serve as guidelines for teachers, especially in designing effective learning processes, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The research method used is literature research by analyzing related literature to gain insight into the basic principles of the teaching profession. The results show that the application of these principles is very important in creating meaningful and effective learning, as well as being able to prepare students to face real life challenges. This research highlights learning principles that PAI teachers can apply, such as demonstration, application, task-centered, activation, and integration, as well as their relevance in a holistic learning process. Rosil FathonyRosiltony10@gmail.com
In a case study conducted in Masbagik District, East Lombok Regency, it was found that the relationship pattern between husband and wife was influenced by differences in economic status and had a significant impact on household harmony. This research shows that in households where there is a significant difference in economic status between husband and wife, there is sometimes an imbalance of power and conflicts are more frequent. Households with large differences in economic status often experience challenges in making household decisions, especially related to financial matters. Meanwhile, households that have a balanced economic status tend to have more harmonious husband-wife relations. They are more likely to support each other and work together in managing family life. The existence of equality in economic contributions and decision making also provides a strong basis for a relationship of mutual respect and understanding between husband and wife. However, household harmony is not only influenced by economic status alone. Other factors such as effective communication, mutual understanding, and emotional support also play an important role in maintaining family integrity and happiness. The results of this research provide a deeper understanding of the complexity of husband-wife relationships in the context of differences in economic status. The implication is that an emphasis on equality, good communication and mutual support can be the key to maintaining household harmony, regardless of different economic conditions.
2025-02-06T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Hariruddin, Moh. The author uses a semantic approach, which is an analytical study of the key terms of a language with a view that finally arrives at a conceptual meaning or worldview. This study uses a qualitative research motto with a descriptive discussion motto of analysis with the type of literature research. This research was conducted to find the meaning of the word Shaffa. Shaffa is based on the weltanschauung (worldview) of the Qur'an. The author uses Toshihiko Izutsu's semantic approach in finding the meaning of the word saffa because Izutsu offers the concept of letting the Qur'an explain and talk about itself' as it has been known in the science of tafsir called tafsir bi al ma'sur or tafsir of verses with verses'. The meaning of "shaffa" or "line" in the Islamic thought tradition, specifically the one discussed by Toshihiko Izutsu, offers a deeper understanding of the relationship between humans, God, and the universe. In Izutsu's studies, the shaffa is not only seen as a physical structure in religious rituals such as prayers, but also as a symbol of unity and harmony created in the diversity of the people. Izutsu interprets the concept of shaffa as a representation of the metaphysical principles that govern the spiritual world, in which each individual, despite having a separate identity, functions in a greater unity in worship of God. This thought leads to the understanding that shaffa reflects the cosmic order that connects the entire creation, affirming the values of togetherness, discipline, and order in society, ultimately serving as a medium for achieving spiritual closeness to God. Thus, according to Izutsu, the shaffa became an important symbol in explaining the spiritual and social order in Islam that was not only ritualistic, but also philosophical and metaphysical.
2025-02-13T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Rahma Azizi Meliasani, Kharis Nugrohohttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/2119The Concept of Human Actions in Muhammad Asad's Interpretation: A Study of 'The Message of the Qur'an (Study of the Book of Tafsir for Thinking People)2025-02-08T14:18:46+00:00Muhammad Reza HardiansyahG100180089@student.ums.ac.idKharis NugrohoKn812@ums.ac.idAndri Nirwana, A.N.an140@ums.ac.id
This study aims to find out Muhammad Asad's interpretation in The Message of the Qur'an, to verses related to human deeds. One approach that is often applied in a Qur'anic study is Fazlur Rahman's double movement hermeneutic. This approach strongly emphasizes the socio-historical context of the revelation of the verse and also the conditions of the present oriented to the discovery of moral ideals. Thus, the purpose of the revelation will still be conveyed at any time. During this decade, the double movement hermeneutic approach has focused more on ethico-legal verses, namely verses that contain certain ethical, moral, social, and legal values. Furthermore, new interpretations are found in the form of legal products that adjust the content of the verse to the situation and conditions that are currently developing in society. In this article, several verses related to the concept of jihad will be analyzed, namely Surah al-Nisa' verse 95 and Surah al-Taubah verses 20 and 24. Of course, these verses are dissected using asba>b al-nuzu>l studies and historical studies that intersect precisely with the practice of jihad in the early days of Islam. So that a concrete moral ideal is found from these verses that war may be carried out in an emergency. When jihad cannot be diverted from the meaning of war, meaning that Muslims are forced to fight against injustice in order to defend religion, they must fulfill the codes of ethics in war. Meanwhile, from the transcendental side, the moral ideal of the verse is to get closer to Allah by maintaining continuous worship until the end of life. In addition, another moral ideal is that jihad can be achieved by spending money in the way of Allah and endeavoring and trusting solely in Him.

2025-02-15T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Siti Aldasari Dwi Rohmawati Al-Murod, Maulidatus Saniyah, Khoirul Umamihttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1342The Effect of Using Driil Methods on Increasing the Ability to Read the Al-Qur'an in Class III in Al-Qur'an Hadith Subjects at DTA Nurul Hikmah2024-06-10T00:14:43+00:00Didah Maolidadidahmaolida771@gmail.comJaenal Abidinjaenal.abidin@fai.unsika.ac.idFeriantoferianto@fai.unsika.ac.id
This research consists of two variables, namely the drill method and the ability to read the Koran, so the aim of this research is to describe the results of drill method learning, the ability to read the Koran, and the influence of both in a correlational relationship. Izutsu's profound semantic theory is applied to analyze this concept in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the meaning contained in "the sea." This research employs a qualitative approach involving the analysis of the content of the Qur'an. Although the Arabic word "البحر" (al-bahr) literally means "sea," its meaning is expanded to encompass spiritual, philosophical, and symbolic aspects. In several surahs, the word "البحر" is mentioned sixty times. This study demonstrates that the sea not only plays an important role in human life but also serves as a symbol of goodness, mercy, and divine power in creating and managing the universe. The sea also represents values such as tawakkul (trust in God), gratitude, and perseverance in the face of life's trials and tribulations. The study finds that the concept of "the sea" in the Qur'an is both complex and encompasses many metaphysical and physical meanings. Toshihiko Izutsu's exegesis reveals the truth of the Qur'an and its impact on knowledge, particularly in the field of oceanography; his semantic approach aids in understanding the depth of the word's meaning and provides deeper insights to readers regarding this phenomenon.
2025-02-16T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Mustaqimah, Kharis Nugroho, Andri Nirwana ANhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1703Photosynthesis in The Qur'an: A Comparative Study of The Interpretation of The Science of The Ministry of Religion of The Republic of Indonesia and The Interpretation of The Verses of Al-Kauniyah Fi Al-Qur'an Al-Karim By Zaghlul An-Najjar2024-11-06T14:36:42+00:00Wahyu Nur Sinta Sarig100210004@student.ums.ac.idKharis Nugrohokn812@ums.ac.idYeti Dahlianayd669@ums.ac.idAndri Nirwana ANan140@ums.ac.id
This study explores the concept of photosynthesis as described in the Qur'an. The research examines verses that reference plant life, such as Surah Al-An’am: 99, and analyzes their relevance to the process of photosynthesis, which involves chlorophyll, sunlight, and the production of oxygen. Through a comparative approach, the study contrasts two interpretations: the Ministry of Religion’s Tafsir Ilmi, which combines traditional exegesis with scientific insights to highlight the symbiotic relationship between faith and science, and Zaghlul An-Najjar’s Tafsir Ayat Al-Kauniyah, which delves into specific scientific elements within the Qur'anic text. This study emphasizes how both interpretations seek to reconcile religious teachings with modern scientific understanding, providing readers with a multifaceted view of how photosynthesis is portrayed in Islamic scripture. It highlights key verses linking natural processes to divine creation, suggesting that scientific phenomena like photosynthesis are aligned with Islamic teachings on the interdependence between nature and spirituality. This behavior, commonly seen both offline and on social media, is analyzed through the lens of Islamic teachings, particularly the Makkiyah Verses of the Qur'an. By examining verses from surahs such as Al-A'raf, Al-Isra, Al-Kahfi, and Al-Furqan, the study identifies moral guidance that encourages humility, simplicity, and moderation—values often contradicted by flexing attitudes. Through a thematic analysis of these verses, supported by the interpretation of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), the research highlights how these teachings can serve as a framework for addressing the cultural shift towards excessive self-promotion and consumerism. This qualitative library research approach aims to contextualize Qur'anic moral principles as a counter to societal behaviors that may foster envy, pride, or social imbalance. Ultimately, the study advocates for the reinforcement of modesty and gratitude, aiming to provide a religious and moral perspective on flexing as a modern cultural trend, demonstrating the ongoing relevance of Qur'anic ethics in addressing contemporary social issues. This research is a literature research that uses descriptive analysis methods and qualitative analysis. Al-Farabi put forward the concept of al-Madinah al-Fadilah to reconcile faith and reason. The concept of government in al-Farabi's theory is based on the leadership style and tradition of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), an apostle and caliph. In addition, in this theory the concept of good character is influenced by the ideas of Plato and Aristotle, especially the idea that views humans as social beings. Al-Farabi was also heavily influenced by the social and political movements of the Abbasid period, political conflicts, riots, political stability, and insecurity were the main causes of this idea. In 2023, revenge porn and sextortion constituted a troubling 40% of gender-based violence against women in the country. Employing a mixed-method approach, which combines library research with interviews of Indonesian victims aged 18 to 36, the findings reveal a stark contradiction with Islamic ethics. Revenge porn violates principles of privacy, decency, trust, and mutual consent, and it neglects reputation protection, endangering individuals. Notably, the study sheds light on the absence of justice in addressing revenge porn, a significant deviation from Islamic principles of justice and fairness. Additionally, the research underscores how revenge porn contradicts cyber ethics, where perpetrators disregard online responsibility, privacy protection, and respectful online behavior. Sale's translation, first published in 1734, remains a seminal work in English-language interpretations of the Qur'an. The review delves into Sale's dedication and introductory sections, highlighting his acknowledgment of the Qur'an's importance amidst differing religious perspectives. Drawing from Sale's own words and insights from orientalists like Edward Denison Ross, the review elucidates the Qur'an's role in shaping Islamic civilization and its impact on diverse cultures. Additionally, Sale's meticulous translation, influenced by earlier works such as Lewis Marracci's Latin translation, reflects the elegance and purity of the Arabic language, further underscored by its canonical status among Arabic-speaking communities. The review also examines Sale's comprehensive approach, encompassing not only translation but also contextual explanations and historical references. Furthermore, it discusses Sale's discourse on pre-Islamic Arabian society, the emergence of Islam, and the fundamental doctrines expounded in the Qur'an. The review concludes by advocating for the inclusion of Sale's preliminary discourse in future editions, emphasizing the enduring relevance of the Qur'an's truths for contemporary readers, both Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
2024-05-16T02:13:46+00:00Agus Yasinelyasien@unida.gontor.ac.idMuhammad Rizal Firdausrizalfirdaus@gontor.ac.id
2025-02-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Agus Yasin, Muhammad Rizal Firdaushttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1343The Role of Character Education in Building Students' Ethics and Morals Through Learning The Quran and Hadith2024-06-05T07:50:30+00:00Siti Nurjannah23204082003@student.uin-suka.ac.idNur Hidayatnur.hidayat@uin-suka.ac.id
This study aims to understand the role of character education in shaping students' ethics and morals through the perspective of hadith in elementary schools, especially in the context of the times. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted in grade IV at a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Sleman during the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected through observation and interviews with a teacher of Qur'an and Hadith subjects, as well as utilizing primary and secondary data. The results showed that MI in Sleman consistently develops a strong character culture, in accordance with the school's vision and mission that emphasizes strong creed, independence, noble character, and environmental insight. Character education is applied thoroughly in various school activities, although it is not specifically integrated in every subject. Teachers use storytelling methods to convey moral values to students. However, the study also identified some challenges, especially related to student behavior that does not always conform to the values taught. Overcoming these challenges requires open communication between teachers, students, and parents, as well as the establishment of clear boundaries and consistent application of consequences. The role of teachers as role models and parental involvement in children's education is very important in shaping student character. With an integrated approach and good cooperation between all parties, character education in MI in Sleman can be effective in building students' ethics and morals despite the challenges faced.
2025-02-19T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Siti Nurjannah, Nur Hidayathttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1333Dynamics Of The Sinoman Hadrah Al Irsyad Tradition, Kintapura Village, Kintap District, Tanah Laut District, 2010-20222024-05-16T06:38:24+00:00Muhammad Sabirin1910111310017@mhs.ulm.ac.idRusdi Effendirusdieffendi@ulm.ac.idDaud Yahyadaudyahya@ulm.ac.id
Sinoman Hadrah consists five or six poetry singers well as tambourine players, then jellyfish umbrella players and accompanied Sinoman Hadrah dancers numbering 20 to 30 people based on number of members while holding small triangular flags inscribed with Arabic letters (Asmaul Husna). Islam, as a timeless universal religion that regulates faith, sharia and morals comprehensively, exists as a guide for every Muslim in carrying out business transaction activities. Transaction comes from the English "transaction". Often in Arabic, it is called al-Mu'amalat. Thus transaction is another word for al-Mu'amalat. In the context of fiqh science, the science of fiqh that studies al-Mu'amalat is called fiqh al-Mu'amalat. The role of Islam in Indonesia's social, cultural, and economic dynamics developed through a long struggle, where Hindu/Buddhist and Christian influences were accompanied by changes in the socio-cultural system. Islam remains a dominant part of the nation today. Because it provides a space that separates the sacred from the profane, there is still a secular influence , albeit culturally and psychologically problematic. On the other hand, the pure teachings of Islam are those that liberate people from dependence on secular culture. Numerically the background to the formation of social order in society is that Islam plays a dominant role, but in fact, due to the acculturation of past cultures and the reality of modern national life, Islam has signs of being shifted. Otherwise, Islam in Indonesia will be used as a stamp of power to prop up a corrupt capitalist government.
2024-04-17T01:00:10+00:00Abdul Rohim Luqman Hakim Marwa Ash SidiqO200200013@student.ums.ac.idImron Rosyadiimron.rosyadi@ums.ac.idMuthoifinmut122@ums.ac.id
Decolonization offers an epistemic idea that is inclusive and egalitarian so that it does not give privilege to a particular way of knowing, a framework like this offers an interpretive discourse that is more open, intersectional, dynamic and equal. This qualitative research aims to elaborate on the idea of decolonization in the study of the Qur'an and compare the ideas of thinkers to highlight the common ground of their thinking while maintaining and explaining existing differences, also emphasize the urgency of decolonization in Qur’anic Studies. So, the method used in this research is comparative analysis. This research concludes that decolonization provides several important meanings in the world of interpretation, such as 1). Equality between knowledges and ways of knowing, 2). Cross-cultural or intersectional studies and 3). Restoring ethical values in knowledge and intensifying community involvement in the interpretation of the Koran. Apart from that, this discourse is still faced with various challenges, such as the potential for the emergence of a new style of essentialism that gives birth to neo-colonialism and resistance from some academic circles who still adhere to the traditional paradigm, feel threatened by changes in the structure of "intellectual power" and do not really care about the context and cultural reality of Islamic thought that continues to develop.
2025-02-23T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Achmad Syariful Afif, Abdullah Khoirur Rofiq, Adam Annural Hajhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1263The Concept of Imam Ibn Al-Jauzi's Independent Education in the Book of Laftatu Al-Kabid Ila Nashihati Al-Walad2024-04-17T01:11:46+00:00Ibnu Jarir Dainuriibnujarir.id@gmail.comRahmat Rosyadirahmatrosyadi@gmail.comSanti Lisnawatisantilisnawati@uika-bogor.ac.id
Building a teacher's personality that includes spiritual and religious values is very important and fundamental, because he is responsible for the quality of education, he is the heir of the Prophet, he is an agent of improvement (ishlahul ummah) and the teacher is the front guard in realizing the ideals of independence. Good communication between individuals is one of the many efforts to minimize and solve problems. Some cases found that when getting a problem, many people actually choose to be silent and ignore related parties rather than communicate. They think that silence is an alternative in solving problems, but in fact, silence is not helpful, it will cause new problems and make the situation more complicated, this attitude is called silent treatment. Western Education is Prohibited (Haram)). Right from her emergence till date, this militant group has been terrorizing lives and properties of innocent citizens of the country under the guise of Jihad. But, this jihad claim is baseless in the light of the group’s wanton violation of life and property, the two of the five necessary human interests (maqāsid daruriyyah) which the Shari’ah seeks to protect. Therefore, this paper studies the Boko Haram Jihad claim viz-a-viz her wanton violation of life and property which are regarded by the Islamic law as inalienable human rights as underscored in the theory of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah (Objectives of Shari’ah). Relevant materials were consulted in libraries to carry out the research. Inter alia, it becomes clear from the findings that the concept of Jihad is a sacred duty in Islam, but it has been abused by Boko Haram as evident in her unjustifiable violation of life and property of innocent citizens. This is against the principles of the Qur‘an and the Sunnah, which the group always claims to defend. The paper argues that, while Jihad is sanctioned in Islam, it is guided by rules and regulations. In addition, life and property are sacrosanct in Islam and nothing can justify their violation as being perpetrated by Boko Haram in Nigeria. Hence, the group’s jihad claim is far from the truth because her activities contradict the lofty objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-sharīʿah) which seek to protect life and property etc. The paper recommends that groups and individuals must have proper understanding of Islam in order to propagate it correctly. Otherwise, the religion of peace would be mistaken for violence and terrorism. Also, the government of Nigeria should ensure fair hearing and justice in dealing with any insurgent groups. This is necessary in view of unfortunate extra-judicial killing of the Boko Haram leader which turned out to be a seed of violence in the northern part of the country
2025-03-09T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Abdul Hameed Badmas Yusuf, Uthman Mohammed Mustapha Kannikehttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1270Creative, Integrative and Effective Methods of Phase B Jurisprudence Learning in Islamic Elementary Schools2024-05-16T01:24:57+00:00Dede Iik Mudrikahdedeiik8586@gmail.comWido Suprahawido.supraha@uika.bogor.ac.idBudi Handriantobudi.handrianto@uika.bogor.ac.id
The purpose of this article is to present the results of research activities related to formulating creative, integrative and effective methods for teaching Fiqh Phase B. Mustafa Sabri, a prominent Muslim in the first half of the 20th century, sharply criticized the ideology of secularism, and revealed that the ideology is not only an ideological deviation, but also an evil plan to abandon religion. Mustafa Sabri identified the essence of secularism as the separation between Islamic governance and religious principles, described religion as the loss of authority over governance, and pointed out negative consequences such as the loss of morality and degradation of values. This paper provides a detailed overview of Mustafa Sabri's views on political secularism, discusses his critique of the dangers of secularism, explains in detail the nature of the separation of religion and state, and describes the possible negative impacts for Islam. This research was conducted in literature, where the researcher analysed the tafsir work using Hans Georg Gadamer's hermeneutic analysis tool. The main findings of this analysis show that Tafsir Al-Misbah is not just an explanation of the text, but also a response to the social context and conflicts that occurred at that time. Through Gadamer's approach, researchers found that Shihab integrated the concept of wasatiah with various contextual dimensions, both from the Qur'anic text and from the surrounding social reality. The results of the analysis show that the concept of wasaṭiyyah expressed by Shihab reflects a fair, balanced and tolerant attitude in everyday life. This concept applies in various aspects of life, both in world affairs and the affairs of the hereafter. Learning is a primary need and plays an important role in supporting human future. In Western learning theory, there are three popular theories, namely: behavioristic learning theory, cognitive learning theory, and humanist learning theory. The focus in this writing is the analysis of behavioristic learning theory from an Islamic perspective. In Islam, the theory that emphasizes attitudes and behavior is the moral learning theory. This theory is commensurate with behavioristic learning theory. Coupled with the moral learning theory, it can be concluded that not all behaviorist theories are contrary to Islam. On the other hand, there are still learning theories that do not conflict with Islam, so a synthesis is needed. From the synthesis of these two learning theories, an integrated learning theory emerges that is in line with Islamic ideals, namely a collection of several principles related to learning that originate from the Al-Quran and Sunnah as well as the treasures of Muslim intellectual thought, and adopts Western learning theories that are relevant to Islam. It is hoped that this integrated learning theory can be implemented in the learning process so that it provides effective and efficient results from the learning process.
2025-03-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Imas Kania Rahman, Neng Ikrimah Aziz Zamakhsyarihttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1996 The Impact of Social Media on Muslim Religious Identity in the 21st Century Social and Cultural Perspective2025-01-18T15:26:19+00:00Enjangenjangadi75@gmail.comDidi Supandididisupandi@uinsgd.ac.id
Social media has become a global phenomenon that influences various aspects of life, including the religious identity of muslims in the 21st century. Through a qualitative approach, the study found that individual and group behaviors have a significant impact on organizational dynamics in these schools. Factors such as motivation, heredity, environment, and education play an important role in shaping their behavior. AL-Jaohar IT Middle School, an educational institution with a relatively young Islamic boarding school system approach, shows the vital role of the Intra-School Student Organization (OSIS) in shaping students' leadership attitudes and developing their potential. However, infrastructure constraints such as inadequate facilities are a challenge in optimizing OSIS performance. Teachers' behavior is also influenced by personal, work, structural and work experience characteristics. Principal leadership with a participatory, democratic, militaristic and charismatic approach plays an important role in directing teacher and student performance towards achieving organizational goals. Collaborative strategies in task assignment, motivation, and support for professional development have also proven effective in increasing teacher work participation. The conclusions of this study confirm that a deep understanding of the factors that influence individual behavior in an educational context is essential. Recommendations were presented to improve the quality of school facilities as well as to expand the principal's consultation network with school committees, foundations and academic elements to further the performance of educational organizations.
2025-03-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ridwan Ahmad, Sihabudin, Siti Aminah, Tamsikuddin, Masduki Dzuriyathttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1325The Relationship between Teenagers' Cognitive Development and Bullying Behavior in Sindangjawa Middle School Students, Dukupuntang District2024-05-16T02:51:02+00:00Zaenal Muttaqinzaenalmuttaqincrbn@gmail.comSepti Gumiandariseptigumiandari@gmail.com
Adolescent problems are a form of failure to adapt for teenagers, one of the problems of teenagers is bullying. By referring to the concept of maqashid shari'ah and direct observation of the conditions of Indonesian society in its various regions, this pair succeeded in outlining ideas that are expected to improve welfare and unite all Indonesian people. In their vision and mission, there is a system of government that is in line with Moh. Natsir's thinking. The concept of democracy emphasized by Natsir, which includes principles such as justice, the rejection of exploitation and poverty, the use of wealth for the benefit of society, and deliberation in decision-making processes that affect the people, appears to be reflected in Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar's views on state development and organization.
2025-03-22T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Muhamad Fajar Pramono, Mohammad Latief, Afifah Fauziah, Adzkia Fityatul Mujahidahhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1327Islamic Personality Education Program for Teachers of General Subjects in High Schools2024-05-16T06:30:07+00:00Imas Kania Rahmanimas.kania@uika-bogor.ac.idAbdul Hadadabdulhadad626@gmail.com
One of the spearheads of educational success is a teacher, because teachers not only teach more knowledge than that in Islamic teachings, teachers are also role models for their students, Imam Al-Ghazali said that a teacher must perfect his mind and morals (personality) and Ibnu Sahnun explained that the importance of personality that a teacher must have. Therefore, teachers must have a good personality as educators, in the learning and teaching process or in the surrounding environment. In order to achieve the expected education, of course the teacher's personality occupies an important position, especially students at high school level must have a teacher figure who can have a good influence on their personality. Therefore, there is a need for a personality education program for teachers. Researchers developed an Islamic personality education program for general subject teachers in high schools. Therefore, researchers chose the Research and Development method, the ADDIE development model. Researchers chose the ADDIE development model as the Research and Development method, the analysis phase of which is carried out by analyzing field and program needs. The design stage refers to the basics of the Islamic religion in general which include aqidah, sharia and morals. In the development phase, expert validation of the initial program was carried out involving curriculum experts, religious experts, linguists and educational practitioners, and a second program was produced. At the implementation stage, it is given to high school principals, high school curriculum coconuts, to high school teachers and to lecturers who guide curriculum analysis. In the evaluation stage, improvements are made based on the users of the second program until it becomes the final program.
2025-03-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Imas Kania Rahman, Abdul Hadadhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1328Implementation of Project-Based Islamic Education Learning in the Merdeka Curriculum at Albayan Boarding School2024-05-16T06:31:21+00:00Irfan Ilahi DhohirIrfan29idh@gmail.comEndin MujahidinEndin.mujahidin@uika-bogor.ac.idNesia AndrianaNesia.andriana@uika-bogor.ac.id
The development of the times requires humans to be adaptive and able to respond to them with actions that are in accordance with human development itself. The role of educators is crucial because they are role models and guides for students. Educators who dedicate themselves must meet the requirements and carry out their duties well. For this reason, teachers need to understand the profile of educators from the perspective of the Qur'an and Hadith which includes murabbi, mu'allim, mu'addib, mudarris, and murshid. This research aims to understand the profile of educators according to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. This research uses qualitative methods by collecting relevant literature sources. The research results state that educators have a heavy responsibility whose task is not only to transfer knowledge but also to form good character. Because of this, educators are required to treat students like their own children so that in the implementation process educators do not discriminate between students and can behave fairly.
2025-03-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Yusam Thobroni, Dinda Kenanga Larasati, Afrida Nur Afni, Achmad Syaifudin Nur Khisamhttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1347Orientation and Basis of Educational Management in a Pedagogical Perspective 2024-06-05T07:56:22+00:00Sania Cahyanicahyanisania2@gmail.comYaya Sunaryayayasunarya@upi.edu
This research covers three main aspects of educational management, namely orientation, basis, and pedagogical perspective. This research aims to identify problems in these three aspects and find the best solution through the final results. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by analyzing various relevant library sources. The research results reveal that the goal orientation of educational management involves careful integration to achieve educational success by paying attention to mission, background, scenarios, resources, and feedback. Meanwhile, the results of educational management are related to the measurable achievement of students' knowledge and skills. The basic education management process includes seven steps, namely planning, organizing, workforce placement, directing, coordinating, reporting, and funding. Meanwhile, Total Quality Management (TQM) is important in ensuring continuous improvement by involving all parties in efforts to increase customer satisfaction and overall quality through its implementation. Meanwhile, educational management from a pedagogical perspective includes five aspects, namely learning theory, curriculum development, guidance, educational management, and evaluation of learning outcomes. The conclusions in this research confirm that the pedagogical perspective provides a very useful basis for improving the quality of educational management through goal and outcome orientation as well as the process basis of education management and Total Quality Management (TQM) that is applied.
2025-03-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Sania Cahyani, Yaya Sunaryahttps://al-afkar.com/index.php/Afkar_Journal/article/view/1351I'jaz Al-Qur'an: The Relevance of I'jaz al-’ Ilmi to the Development of Human Knowledge2024-06-05T08:05:04+00:00Sifa Mufidatul Akbar ASsifaakbar131@gmail.com
This paper examines one of the sciences in‘ulum al-Qur’an, namely i’jaz al-Qur’an, more specifically aims to discuss the levels, characteristics, aspects of i’jaz al-Qur’an and the relevance of i’jaz al-’ilmi to the development of human knowledge. This paper is the result of a bibliography research with data sources in the form of books, books, and articles related to i’jaz al-Qur’an and the development of human knowledge. The data obtained is then processed using the content analysis method. The results of the study show that i’jaz al-Qur’an is interpreted as an extraordinary thing that exists in the Qur'an, brought in as proof of the Prophet Muhammad's apostolate as a challenge to anyone who opposes the Qur'an to bring something similar to it so that the weakness of the opposition appears. The characteristics of i’jaz al-Qur’an are in the form of extraordinary things and challenges that cannot be equated or even defeated. Based on several aspects i’jaz al-Qur’an, it is found that the level of i’jaz al-Qur’an can be in a small part or most of the Qur'an, including the sound of the letters and the flow of the words. The Qur'an encourages humans to think using reason, therefore i’jaz al-’ilmi is relevant to the development of human knowledge where the Qur'an with its scientific cues is useful as a means of developing human knowledge.
2025-03-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Sifa Mufidatul Akbar AS
